The estate is among the oldest and largest in Tuscany. It has never been either a tourist destination or home to important and valuable wineries such as Banfi, Antinori, Frescobaldi, etc., and is therefore less well-known, but to which it yields nothing, both for its historical and architectural value and for its landscape and naturalistic charm.
Garden Farm: the farmhouse and the garden
Far from any view, it is one of the thirteen farmhouses on the estate, among the closest to the village, from which it is about 1 km away and is the best kept and easiest to access. Sheltered from the north, just below the village of Anqua, it is one of the most beautiful silhouettes of Tuscan vernacular architecture. Perfect and radical restoration; both structural and finished, with pastel blue window frames, doors, and dark interiors: a small touch of Provence, widespread in Tuscany, which somewhat revives the excessive austerity of the country’s rural architecture and is especially popular with tourists. The two floors are not joined together, respecting the original layout, with an external staircase leading to the upper floor. The most rational hypotheses for building an internal staircase are being studied, but this is not essential given the large space available on each floor. The pool is just a few meters from the building, although it is closed to the eye with a hedge of dense Piracanta, which also surrounds the garden and is so dense that it also prevents the passage of wild animals.
